Counter-Strike (CS) is the multiplayer first-person shooter video game series. It is very popular game series and got a large number of followers. There are terrorists and counter-terrorists in the game. They indulge in acts of terror like bombing and hostage-taking. And then they try to escape from it for instance bomb defuse and hostage rescue. There was the launch of a very first version of Counter-Strike in the year 1990. It started on Windows. It was initially launched as a modification for Half-Life. The designer of the game was Minh “Gooseman” Le and Jess “Cliffe” Cliffe. Before, intellectual property rights of the game were taken by Valve Corporation. They were the developers of Half-Life.
There was made an expansion of this game by the name Counter-Strike (Condition Zero). It was developed by Turtle Rock Studios. This expansion of the game was launched in 2004. Half-Life GoldSrc engine was used for the game. it also got a single-player mode that had a “full” campaign besides the multiplayer mode. There were bonus levels in the game too.
This game did not get much popularity, unlike its earlier versions. During the same year, Valve launched the Counter-Strike: Source. It was unveiled only eight months after Condition Zero, in November 2004. This expansion was a remake of the original Counter-Strike. At that time, Valve was the newly produced source engine. The fourth expansion in the main series was produced by Valve that was Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This game was released in 2012. It was run on the Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Hidden Path Entertainment helped in producing the Counter-Strike: Source. That also provided its services to develop the game with Valve. There have been numerous community-made spin-off titles produced over the years.
